Like Liveops, Working Solutions functions as a flexible call center. Exactly what your capacity will be is determined by your previous experience. If you sign up with the company, you could be working in customer service, inbound sales, insurance claims, technical support, roadside assistance, healthcare, payroll support, and even food order taking. However, some positions are independent contractors. Along the way, the company offers community support, career development, flexible vacation time, and even healthcare. Some of the industries you may find yourself working in include direct response, financial services, healthcare, insurance, retail, technology, telecommunications, utilities, and travel and hospitality. The company attempts to match individuals with companies based on specific experience and skills. As a Liveop agent you’ll be part of an on-demand workforce requiring the need to be available during high-traffic times when demand is strongest. Though the company is based in Beijing, China, they have a US office in San Francisco. The website advertises the company pays $22 per hour for participating teachers. If you qualify, you’ll be working with students between the ages of four and 12, who are learning English as a second language. They use technology-designed personalized learning and create a connection between teachers and students, regardless of geography. To accomplish that goal, they hire teachers from all over the world. VIPKid is a company providing instruction in English to more than 500,000 students in China, including 300 low income rural schools. The company works with translators in more than 350 languages. If you are bilingual, this could be the work-at-home situation for you. The company works with more than a half-million people, and seems especially well-suited to linguistics experts and cultural translators. Industries serviced including banking and finance, gaming, manufacturing, legal services, and life sciences. These home-based positions are open to college students, as well as home-based workers. One interesting subcategory is testers, raters and curators. Lionbridge is currently hiring corporate associates in technology, finance, marketing and sales, as well as translators and interpreters. You can also work as a freelancer through the company, depending on the specific service you can provide. Positions are available for both full- and part-time work.
